MARCELLO HERNÁNDEZ
Since starting his career performing stand-up in Miami clubs, Marcello Hernández has quickly carved out a space as one of comedy’s rising and most popular voices. A Cuban-Dominican comedian, writer, and actor, Hernandez joined Saturday Night Live in 2022 as both a featured actor and a writer. He became the show’s first Latin cast member in nearly a decade as well as SNL’s first Gen Z member. His high-energy and witty comedy earned him his breakout status. On SNL, he gained virality and widespread attention for his character “Domingo,” appearing in several skits, namely SNL’s parody of Sabrina Carpenter’s “Espresso.”
Before SNL, Hernandez developed an online following with viral sketch videos and stand-up clips, with his content blending humour and stories about his upbringing. He was named a Just For Laughs New Face in 2022 and has opened for established names like Dave Chappelle—he has also opened before at UMD in 2022 for Colin Jost. Hernandez has also appeared in The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. In 2024, he released his first comedy special entitled Que Paso?, praised for its humour and rhythm. Now, Hernandez remains a star on SNL, delivering charisma and quick wit, and continuing to make it clear why he is a rising star in comedy.
